Afghans had made fake Indian passports at Jabalpur address

Digital Desk, New Delhi. Five more Afghans living in the country after getting Indian passports made on the basis of wrong addresses and documents were arrested by the ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) team from Kolkata on Sunday. Everyone has been brought to Jabalpur.
The accused were produced in the court on Sunday and taken on police remand till 25th February. Before this, ATS has arrested three Afghans who made fake passports and three others who helped them i.e. some six accused.
The accused were doing usury business
The arrested Afghans are Zia ul Rehman, Sultan Mohammad, Raza Khan, Syed Mohammad, Zafar Khan. These five came to India many years ago and ran a money lending business in Kolkata. He had got his fake Indian passport made through Sohbat Khan, an Afghan living in Jabalpur.
Let us tell you that ATS had earlier arrested Sohbat Khan in Jabalpur in August 2025. A fake Indian passport was found from him. On his information, Kolkata residents Mohammad Iqbal and Akbar were also arrested.
Sohbat, along with Jabalpur's alleged advocate Chandan Singh, forest guard Dinesh Garg and Mahesh Kumar Sukhdan, had got fake Indian passports made for all three of them.
Took two and a half lakhs, gave address of Jabalpur
After coming to India, these Afghans were living in Kolkata. During this time, he came to know about Sohbat, who used to make fake Indian passports. They contacted him, after which Sohbat took Rs 2.5 lakh per passport and got his fake documents prepared in Jabalpur.
Sohbat called all five to the city in 2024 and got their photographs clicked at POPSK (Post Office Passport Seva Kendra). After getting the documents checked, all five were sent away. It was Sohbat who collected the passport from the post office and then sent it to all five.
