Jagran Correspondent, Palwal: On Sunday afternoon, about two dozen people armed with weapons attacked a house in village Bhamraula of Bahin police station area of the district and spread panic. It is alleged that the attackers fired indiscriminately and tried to forcibly abduct the girl and a young man of the house.
The attackers arrived with weapons and opened fire
According to the complaint given by the victim Sarjeet to the police, the attackers who came from village Gehlab arrived at around 2 pm in a blue Baleno car and several bikes. The accused had axes, swords, knives and iron rods in their hands.
As soon as they reached home, the accused started the attack and fired three aerial shots to spread panic. A bullet was fired directly at the door of the house, causing chaos in the family.
Attempt to take away girl, assault on protest
It has been told in the complaint that the attackers entered the house and tried to forcibly take away Sarjeet's daughter Preeti. When the family protested, the accused brutally beat the nephew's son Bhup and started forcibly taking him along. However, when the villagers gathered at the spot, the attackers fled from there leaving Bhup.
The accused ran away after threatening them
The victim's side alleges that while leaving, the attackers threatened to fire five more bullets by 5 pm. The audio recording of this threat has been handed over to the police.
The main accused in the case have been identified as Suraj Pehalwan, Devi, Vicky Panchal, Vinod, Pawan, Hitesh, Luv, Mukal, Bhagat Singh Kalsod and Rohit along with other unidentified people.
On receiving the information, on the instructions of the control room, SI Jogendra Singh reached the spot with his team and inspected the spot. While ensuring the safety of the victim's family, the police have registered a case under various sections including the Arms Act and started investigation. At present the police is busy searching for the accused.
