In fact, after the death of Inquilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Usman Hadi, violence broke out in the neighboring country and the situation worsened. During this period many media institutions were also targeted. During this, the mob vandalized the offices of Prothom Alo and set fire to the building of The Daily Star located at Caravan Bazaar. During this time, attempts were made to burn many journalists alive.
Why did violence erupt again in Bangladesh?
Inquilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Usman Hadi, who played a key role in the movement against the rule of former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, died in Singapore recently. After his death, there was huge uproar in Dhaka. Protesters set fire to several media institutions late at night. At the same time, the protesting people also set fire to the offices of Awami League in Rajshahi.
The head of the interim government called an emergency meeting
The simmering violence in Bangladesh has put law and order in the dock. Meanwhile, interim government head Mohammad Yunus has called a high level meeting. According to the information, after the news of Hadi's death came to light, a large number of people gathered at Shahbad intersection. After this the angry mob blocked the intersection. During this, the protesters waved placards and accused Hadi of failing in security.
Protestors set many buildings on fire
According to reports, the protesters first attacked the office of Pratham Alo located in Karwan Bazaar. During this, they set fire to many shops including furniture. At the same time, the protesters also targeted and attacked journalists of many media institutions.
Hadi died in Singapore
It is noteworthy that on December 12, during the election campaign in Bijoynagar area of Dhaka, some unknown miscreants shot Inquilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Usman Hadi. Seeing Hadi's condition worsening, he was first admitted to Dhaka for treatment. However, he was later sent by air ambulance to Singapore for treatment on 15 December.
Umus appealed to the people for peace
He died during treatment in Singapore. Hadi's death was confirmed by the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry and Singapore officials. As soon as the news of Hadi's death came out, people got angry and came to the streets. Meanwhile, Mohammad Yunus has appealed to the people for peace.
