Accused of fake call center arrested by Bisarkh Kotwali police. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Greater Noida. Bisrakh Kotwali Police has exposed the fake call center running in Gaur City Center of Bisrakh Kotwali area and arrested eight people including five women. People were being cheated through online gaming apps from the call centre.
The call center was being operated by Sonal alias Anirudh, a B.Com pass Divyang. The call center was operating in Greater Noida for six months. Earlier, thugs sitting in Delhi were making people victims of fraud in the name of earning money on online gaming apps.
How educated are the accused?
The accused have been identified as Sonal alias Anirudh of Jalbalpur, Madhya Pradesh. He has passed B.Com. The second accused, Ajay Singh, resident of Ghazipur Fadaura South Mohalla, Uttar Pradesh, is a B.Sc. Whereas Aligarh Jarauli Dhoom Singh is studying BCA.
While the female accused are Ruchi, resident of Royal Residency Society Greno West, Komal of Ghaziabad Crossing, Sushma, resident of Chhapraula police station Badalpur, Sonia, resident of Pratapgarh Kanhai Harkala.
Police have recovered 18 mobile phones, four laptops, 155 SIM cards, two computers, four WiFi modems, 10 page data sheets, 10 headphones, 50 payment QR code scanners and cash worth Rs 45 thousand and other items from the possession of the accused.
DCP Central Noida Shakti Mohan Awasthi said that on Wednesday, on the basis of local intelligence and confidential information, the team of Bisrakh Kotwali police received information about the operation of a fake call center running in Gaur City Centre.
Police interrogation revealed that while sitting in the call centre, the women used to contact people who were willing to play games. After this, they were lured into winning the game. Initially a small amount was invested. After this the game was won. After this, a huge amount was charged and the money was not returned after losing the game.
Used to make people who contacted the website victims
The kingpin who operated the call center had created a gaming website, Mazabook Maje Se Jeeto. Earlier, the player playing the game on this website had to register. After this, games like cricket, casino, aviator, roulette, Haralal numbering etc. were played.
The customer was lured into investing the money. After this, they were made to lose the game and their money was embezzled. The accused used to take money through QR code and get it transferred to their bank accounts.
