Application date extended for PDS shops in Jehanabad
Jagran correspondent, Jehanabad. The process of application for new shops is going on with the aim of further strengthening the public distribution system in the district. In this sequence, the administration has extended the last date of application.
Earlier, applications were to be taken from interested candidates till 10th February, but now this date has been extended to 24th February, so that more and more eligible people can participate in this process.
Sub-divisional officer Rajeev Ranjan Singh said that a total of 94 new PDS shops are proposed to be operated in the district. These include urban areas as well as rural areas. The opening of new shops will provide convenience in distribution of ration to consumers and the increasing pressure on existing shops will also be reduced.
He said that due to continuous increase in population, the number of beneficiaries at the already operating PDS shops had increased significantly. The distribution system was being affected due to this. Keeping this in mind, the need for additional shops was felt.
He said that interested applicants can apply in the prescribed form along with required documents. All applications will be scrutinized once they are received.
In the investigation process, eligibility, authenticity of documents and other prescribed standards will be evaluated. Only eligible applicants who complete all the formalities will be granted license to operate PDS shop.
