Jagran correspondent, Bijnor. Kanwar Yatra is starting from 5th February. This time more than seven lakh Kanwariyas are expected to pass through the district. In such a situation, the police administration is busy making arrangements for a peaceful journey. First of all, a plan for traffic diversion has been prepared from February 5th. On Monday, the administration has released the route diversion plan.
Operations on Kanwar route will stop from February 5.
According to the plan, operation of heavy vehicles on Kanwar route will stop from February 5. Vehicles coming and going from Haridwar will be diverted from Barrage Road via Muzaffarnagar. Essential commodities, food items, petroleum, gas and medical related vehicles will be taken out to Kanwai between 11 pm and 4 am. Entry will be allowed in the district.
As the number of Kanwadis increases, small vehicles will also be prohibited.
There will be a complete ban on trucks, dumpers, DCM, tractor-trolleys and other heavy vehicles during diversion. Apart from this, changes will be made in the plan depending on the number of Kanwadis. As the number increases, small vehicles will be stopped on the Kanwar route. Civil and traffic police will be deployed at intersections and diversion points to implement the plan.

Heavy vehicles coming and going from Moradabad, Kashipur to Muzaffarnagar will be diverted through alternative routes of Sambhal, Anupshahr and Hapur and Meerut.

There will be no movement of heavy vehicles on these routes
Due to Kanwar Yatra, movement of heavy vehicles will be banned on all types of vehicles till Mandawali, Motamahadev, Najibabad, Nagina, Dhampur, Seohara. Heavy vehicles will remain closed from Bijnor to Chandpur, Babanpura. Heavy vehicles will remain closed on Bijnor to Nurpur Daulatpur route. Alternative routes will be used for sugarcane vehicles.
