Accused Durgesh Singh took gold from many people in the name of gold investment and tricked them into paying monthly installments of profit. After this he collected everyone's gold and ran away.
On Saturday, 25 victims lodged an FIR against him. He expressed apprehension that the accused Durgesh had cheated and taken away gold worth six crore rupees. 25 women including Subhashnagar resident Giriraj Kishori told the police that Durgesh Singh, resident of Shanti Vihar Colony, told them about many schemes on the pretext of investment in gold, property, business etc.
Said that whatever money she gives them will be invested. In return you will get huge profits. Besides, some interest will also be given every month. They lured people that as their business grows, people's money will also keep increasing. Some women who were deceived gave cash. Some said they did not have cash.
So the thug took their gold and silver jewelery from them and said that he would mortgage them and invest their money. Gradually women kept falling into his trap and gave whatever cash or gold they had. It is alleged that suspicion arose when the accused did not pay even a single installment. He kept postponing it for a few days saying that he would get the interest money soon, but later he started threatening.
Said that if he complains anywhere, he will kill him. After this, Subhash Nagar Police has registered an FIR against the accused. Search for him is going on Apart from this, two more FIRs were registered on Saturday against Kanhaiya Gulati, owner of Canviz Group, who has defrauded more than Rs 800 crore in the name of land investment and market networking.
Till now 40 FIRs have been filed against him. Last year, Suryakant Maurya had absconded after defrauding more than Rs 400 crore by forming Amar Jyoti Chitfund Company. Before that, RK Gola had also committed a fraud of more than Rs 100 crore under the guise of a chit fund company, he was sent to jail.
