Jagran correspondent, Amroha. The Health Department has sealed more than 70 hospitals, clinics and labs by conducting raids since January. These operated without registration. There was no doctor among them. Quacks were playing with the lives of ordinary patients by treating them and performing operations on them. But surprisingly, after sealing, the department forgot to lodge an FIR against the accused. Till now FIR has been lodged against hardly five only.
In-charge CMO Dr. Yogendra Kumar took charge on 31 December. In which, as soon as he took charge, he started a campaign against quacks and sealed their hospitals, clinics and labs from January 1. District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Vishal Trivedi was named the nodal officer.
Since then, the nodal officer has conducted raids and sealed more than 70 hospitals, clinics and labs. These operated without registration. In which quacks were carrying out operation delivery of pregnant women and operation and treatment of serious patients indiscriminately. After sealing, the department had also issued notices to the accused.
But he is hesitant in registering an FIR against him. So far, FIR has been filed against only five in Dhanaura, Naugawan Sadat and Jaya. Due to which the morale of quacks is high. In-charge CMO Dr. Yogendra Singh said that an FIR has also been lodged against some quacks. While preparations are underway to take action against others.
The game going on under the guise of raid action
The Health Department is playing games under the guise of raiding action against quacks. Because hospitals and clinics of quacks were sealed and notices were also issued to them. But sealed hospitals and clinics opened within two-three days. In Saidangali too, three hospitals including Meerut Nursing Home were sealed 15 days ago, but they were later opened. The question is, how did it open when there were no doctors in it and it was running without registration. At present the health department is under question.
Mobile numbers of team personnel are mentioned on the back of the notice.
Behind the notices issued to quacks, health workers are handing over their mobiles to quacks. After which the quack contacts that number and starts colluding. Once the deal is struck, the hospital is opened. Even in Dhanaura tehsil, after sealing the hospital, the employees wrote the mobile number on the notice and handed it over to quacks.
