Talked to a relative at 7:30
When the police checked the old man's mobile phone, he had called one of his close relatives at 7.30 pm. We talked on the phone for a few minutes. When the police talked to that relative, he said that the old man had called and asked about his well being.
Through the footage, the police have expressed suspicion that the murder of the elderly couple took place between 7:40 and 8:15 pm. There does not seem to be a case of robbery behind this murder. Police is investigating from many angles including property dispute.
Happy New Year to daughter
The couple's daughter Ekta told that the parents had called her on the first day of the New Year and wished her a Happy New Year. We talked on the phone for a long time. There was no talk after this. She often called her parents to inquire about their well-being.
Neighbors say that the elderly couple was ill. Because of this he rarely came out of the flat. Both were cheerful. Whenever he met someone, he knew about their well-being. His son used to do the household work.
Beat officers do not meet the elderly
In Shahdara district, 700 elderly people are in the police's elderly list. It is the responsibility of the beat officers of the police station to go from time to time and meet those elders and ask about their problems. See whether they are living safely or not. It is alleged that these beat officers visit the homes of the elderly only on special days. No such program is run so that more and more elderly people get themselves registered with the police.
