What did the 4 big schemes get in the budget?
1. VB-Jiram ji got the biggest allocation:
The largest allocation went to VB-GRAM G (earlier MNREGA) related to employment guarantee. A provision of Rs 95,692.31 crore has been made for this. Last year, the original budget was Rs 86,000 crore, which was increased to Rs 88,000 crore in the revised estimate. Apart from this, Rs 30,000 crore has been kept separately for the program component of MNREGA this year. Rural laborers, unemployed families and small infrastructure works in villages will directly benefit from this.
2. Allocation of Rs 63500 crore to PM Kisan Yojana
The budget of the ongoing Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Yojana) for farmers has been kept at Rs 63,500 crore, which is the same as last year. Under this scheme, small and marginal farmers get installments directly into their accounts, which helps in meeting the expenses of seeds, fertilizers and farming.
3. What did Ayushman Bharat scheme achieve?
In the health sector, Rs 9,500 crore has been allocated for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). Last year it was Rs 9,401 crore, which came down to Rs 8,995 crore in the revised estimates. This scheme provides free treatment to poor and vulnerable families, especially during costly treatment in big hospitals.
