With the increase in the support price of wheat, farmers of Prayaraj will also be able to get better prices.

Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. The government has increased the minimum support price (MSP) of wheat by Rs 160 to Rs 2585 per quintal. With this increase, farmers will get better prices for their produce and their production costs will be compensated. 250 purchasing centers have been opened for wheat purchase in the four districts of Prayagraj division, where preparations are made to ensure timely purchase and payment, so that the farmers do not face any problem.

Minimum support price fixed at Rs 2585 per quintal

The minimum support price of wheat has been set at Rs 2585 per quintal, which is Rs 160 more than last year. Last year the price of wheat was fixed at Rs 2425 per quintal. Keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers, a total of 60 purchasing centers have been opened in the district for purchasing wheat.

Farmers will not face any problem in getting weighed

Whereas 69 purchasing centers have been opened in Pratapgarh, 50 in Fatehpur and 37 in Kaushambi. Necessary preparations have been completed to ensure timely procurement at these centres. Deputy RMO Avinash Chandra said that farmers will not be allowed to face any problem in the process of registration, weighing and payment.

- This time the support price of wheat was Rs 2585 per quintal, last year it was Rs 2425 per quintal.

- 250 purchasing centers are being opened in Prayagraj division, this time the maximum number of 94 centers in the district.

Wheat will be purchased from March 17 to June 15

Along with basic facilities, arrangements for monitoring are also being made at all the purchasing centres. This time wheat will be procured from March 17 to June 15. The Board's wheat target was not being met for the last four years but preparations have already started to meet the target this year.

Payment will be made into farmers' accounts

RMO Raju Prasad says that by increasing the support price, the target of wheat in the division is expected to be met this time. Soon the target of the division will also be decided. Payment to farmers will be made in their Aadhaar linked bank account. To keep the account active, funds must have been transacted in the last three months.
