State Bureau, New Delhi. Due to low wind speed, light fog in the morning and partly cloudy sky during the day, AQI of 12 areas in Delhi was recorded more than 300 on Tuesday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the level of pollutants in Delhi's air has doubled the standards.

According to CPCB, Delhi's AQI was recorded at 249 on Monday while it was recorded at 271 on Tuesday. This level of air is kept in the 'bad' category. Two days ago on Sunday it was 189. That means its level has increased by about 90 points in two days. A layer of smog was visible in many parts of the capital in the morning, while the AQI remained 'very poor' in other areas including Anand Vihar, Bawana and Narela. All these places were included in poor AQI even in the evening. AQI was recorded more than 350 at two places. The highest AQI of 372 was recorded in Mundka.

According to the standards, only if the level of PM 10 in the air is less than 100 and the level of PM 2.5 is less than 60, it is considered normal. But, at 3 pm on Tuesday afternoon, the average level of PM 10 in the air of NCR including Delhi was 249.3 and the average level of PM 2.5 was 124.6 micrograms per cubic meter. That means there are almost twice as many pollutant particles present in the air as compared to the standards.
