Businessman dies in Nepal Police firing
Samvad Sutra, Jogbani (Araria). On the first day of the New Year, one person died in police firing in Laukihi of Sunsari district of Nepal. After which the situation went out of control. The said incident is being reported from Sunsari district of Nepal adjacent to the border village Bela Seema.
Local people said that a businessman was killed in the firing by Nepal Armed Police. After this the villagers got angry at the police. Angry villagers blocked the East-West Highway near Laukahi and demonstrated on the road. The situation worsened to such an extent that the protesters set a Nepal Arms Police post on fire.
Dozens of Indian travelers to Nepal stranded on the way
Nepal's main East-West Highway came to a complete standstill due to the protest. Due to which dozens of Indian vehicles and passengers who had gone to Nepal to celebrate New Year remained stranded on the way. To control the situation on the spot, a large number of police forces were deployed around Sunsari District Police Office.
According to the information, at around 1 am on Wednesday night, 45-year-old businessman Vijay Sah was carrying goods from India to Nepal in a city safari rickshaw. It is alleged that Nepal Armed Police Force personnel tried to stop them, but they started running away in a rickshaw. Meanwhile, the police opened fire, in which Vijay Sah was shot and he died on the spot.
Discussion about the deceased businessman being shot four times
It is being told that Vijay Sah was carrying seven sacks of sugar, sugar, surf and chocolate. During the incident, two rounds were allegedly fired by the e-rickshaw riders traveling ahead of the businessman, after which the Nepal Armed Police Force retaliated.
There is talk among the villagers that the deceased businessman was hit by four bullets, although this has not been officially confirmed. Angered by the businessman's death, people blocked the Kosi Highway since morning. The protesters placed the dead body and the damaged City Safari on the road and raised slogans.
Furious mob sets fire to police post
Meanwhile, the angry mob set fire to the police post. When the situation worsened, Nepal Police tried to control it, while Nepal Force soldiers are also reported to have been injured during the demonstration.
According to DIG Kumar Nyupane of Nepal Armed Police Force Kosi Pradesh, the soldiers fired in retaliation. Sunsari District Police Office spokesperson DSP Chandra Khadka said that two round shells have been recovered from the spot. How many bullets were hit by the businessman will become clear only after the post mortem report. At present, Sunsari SP himself is camping at the spot. The police is trying to normalize the situation.
