DigitalDesk, New Delhi. New Year was celebrated with great pomp all over India. Despite cold and fog, people welcomed 2026 with enthusiasm. Fireworks, dance, music and parties lit up the night in places like Delhi, Goa, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Manali, Kashmir and Uttarakhand.
Delhi-NCR: Thousands of people gathered at Connaught Place, India Gate and various clubs in the capital. New Year was welcomed with fireworks and live music.
Goa: Goa, the bastion of beach parties, was packed with tourists this time too. DJ, dance and spectacular fireworks at Anjuna, Baga and Calangute beaches made the atmosphere memorable. Lakhs of tourists were seen celebrating on the beach.
Punjab and Haryana: In Punjab, Bhangra and Giddaki dance became popular. Celebrations were held in Amritsar, Ludhiana and Chandigarh with traditional dance and music. There was a lot of fun in clubs and resorts in Haryana also.
Uttar Pradesh: Lights, fireworks and crowds created a festive atmosphere in Lucknow, Varanasi and Prayagraj. Celebrations took place with families in the ghats and parks.
Manali, Kashmir and Uttarakhand: Amid snowfall, snow parties and adventure activities attracted tourists in Himachal's Manali, Kashmir's Gulmarg and Uttarakhand's Auli. Hotels were fully booked and fireworks lit up the snowy mountains.
The excitement of the New Year across the country has brought a message of hope and happiness. The police had made elaborate security arrangements.
