Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with officials of various departments including administration, police, municipal corporation in the meeting room of Gorakhnath temple late on Friday evening and reviewed the preparations for the world famous Khichdi fair, Gorakhpur Mahotsav to be held at Gorakhnath temple on Makar Sankranti and the ongoing development works in the district.

He expressed satisfaction knowing that the preparations for the Khichdi fair were almost complete. He also said that the crowd of devotees gathering on the first day of the New Year will act as a rehearsal for the administration to arrange the Khichdi Fair. The arrangements for this day will also provide an opportunity to physically test the preparations for the Khichdi Fair.

During the review meeting, the Chief Minister took information from the officials of all the concerned departments about their preparations regarding the management of Khichdi Mela. All the preparations were found satisfactory even before the deadline of December 20 set by the Chief Minister. While giving instructions to pay constant attention to the preparations, he said that before the Khichdi Fair, on January 1, the first day of the New Year, a huge crowd will gather in the temple to have the darshan of Guru Gorakhnath ji. This will be a good opportunity to rehearse the preparations for the fair. A large number of devotees come to Khichdi Fair to offer Khichdi to Baba Gorakhnath. In such a situation, there should not be any lack in their safety, convenience and comfort.

Local artists get ample opportunities in Gorakhpur Festival

Reviewing the preparations for the Gorakhpur Mahotsav to be held from January 11 to 13, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that local artists and talents should be given ample opportunity in the festival. Efforts should be made to encourage traditional musical instruments, singing and dancing arts through festivals. Said that whatever work is left regarding the festival should be completed quickly. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to organize a seminar on the development, plans and achievements of each sector in the Gorakhpur Mahotsav.

There should be security in Ramgarhtal area on the first day of the new year.

In view of the expectation of huge crowd in Ramgarhtal area, the special tourist center of the city, on the first day of the New Year, the Chief Minister directed to make adequate arrangements for the convenience and convenience of the people. He said that on December 31, the first day of the New Year, this area should be monitored through CC cameras so that no one spreads anarchy. On this special occasion, he also directed to make additional arrangements for parking in Ramgarhtal area and to publicize it in time. He said that it should be ensured that vehicles are not parked anywhere on the road.

Complete road construction projects quickly

Reviewing the updated status of the ongoing development works in the district, the CM said that all the ongoing road construction projects should be completed expeditiously in a quality manner. The Chief Minister said that providing smooth transportation system should be the priority of the administration. He also reviewed the heritage corridor and gave instructions to expedite the work. He also said that the Municipal Corporation and GDA should take initiative to provide shops to the owners of the shops which have been completely affected by coming under the purview of the heritage corridor.

Systematic rehabilitation of affected shopkeepers should be ensured. The Chief Minister also directed to light adequate number of bonfires for the convenience of the common people during the cold wave. Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava, Gorakhpur Rural MLA Vipin Singh and senior officials of administration, police and various departments were present in the meeting.
