Cold Increased After Rain In Himachal, Temperature Dropped By 9 Degrees; Chances Of Snowfall And Rain Again Today

Temperature dropped by 9 degrees due to heavy snowfall and rain in Himachal.

State Bureau, Shimla. After snowfall and rain in Himachal Pradesh, the day temperature has dropped by nine degrees Celsius. There has been a drop of 9.7 degree Celsius in Bhuntar, 8.2 degree Celsius in Kalpa, seven degree Celsius in Dharamshala, 5.5 degree Celsius in Shimla and Solan, 4.7 degree Celsius in Kangra and Mandi.

The Meteorological Department has predicted snowfall and rain at some places in the higher areas on February 2. There is a possibility of cloudy sky at some places in the state. On Sunday, one foot snowfall occurred in Baralacha, Shinkula and Rohtang.

Atal Tunnel received four inches of snow, Kalpa, Kufri and Narkanda received three inches of snow. A thick layer of snow has spread in Rohtang including Shinkula, Baralacha and Kunjam. There has been three inches of snowfall in Solanganala and Kothi. Snowfall is also occurring in the entire valley of Lahaul.

It rained in Shimla, Kangra and other places. There has been snowfall in Theog and Kharapathar. Police have safely rescued 10 vehicles stuck amidst snowfall in Khadapathar. 54 sheep and goats of sheep herders of Kinnaur district died due to lightning on Sunday morning in Deothi, Solan.

On Sunday, there was light hailstorm in Shimla and upper areas, while thunderstorm occurred at many places. The highest rainfall in the state was 15 mm in Manali and six mm in Una. There has been a difference of two to three degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature in the state.

There has been growth in some places and decline in others. The Meteorological Department has predicted less than normal rainfall in February. The state received heavy snowfall and rain only on two days in January due to increased activity of Western Disturbance. In such a situation, four percent more rainfall than normal was recorded.
