Construction Of Bridge Started On Karijhal Joria Of Jamui, 2 Thousand Villagers Will Get Transportation Support.

Wave of happiness among the people. (Awakening)

Samvad Sutra, Chakai (Jamui). There is a relief news for about two thousand villagers of Jamnitari, Chandosol, Baghapatar and Bhalua, including Karijhal village, who have been suffering the brunt of neglect for years.

On the initiative of local head Sunil Soren and Panchayat Samiti member Sabina Tuddu, the construction work of about 70 feet long bridge on Karijal Joria with the funds of 15th Finance Commission was formally started on Sunday. The construction of the bridge will provide great transportation facilities to the villagers of the area.

Till now, due to lack of bridge, the villagers had to cover a distance of about 17 kilometers to reach the block headquarters, whereas after the construction of the bridge, this distance will reduce to only seven kilometers.

Villagers told that crossing Joriya during rainy days was like risking one's life. Especially children, patients and pregnant women had to face a lot of problems.

Upendra Soren, Sanjay Hansda, Kailu Murmu and Chunnu Murmu told that under compulsion, patients and pregnant women had to be carried on cots for 17 kilometers, due to which there was always a fear of something untoward.

Villagers Ajay Hansda, Jetha Hembram and Budhan Hembram said that applications were given to the local MLA several times regarding the construction of the bridge, but no concrete initiative was taken.

The plight of the area is also evident from the fact that the dilapidated road of PWD is limited only to Jogiatari, whereas there is neither a road till Karijal nor a bridge on Joriya. Villager Babulal Hansda said that despite a booth being built in Karijal during the assembly elections, basic facilities were ignored.

Chief Sunil Soren said that in view of the years-old demand of the villagers and their difficulties, the decision to construct the bridge was taken with the funds of the 15th Finance Commission.

He said that the villagers of Karijhal had to risk their lives while traveling during the rainy season, in view of which the construction of this bridge was started with the Mukhiya Nidhi. This bridge will not only reduce the distance but will also give a new direction to the development of the area.

Panchayat committee member Sabina Tuddu appreciated the efforts of the chief and said that this bridge will make the lives of about two thousand villagers easier. A large number of villagers including Babua Besra, Lakhan Hansda expressed happiness when the bridge construction work started.
