Police assistance center built near Jamunapur intersection
Samvadsutra, Jagran Unchahar (Rae Bareli). Being connected to the border of Pratapgarh and Fatehpur districts, the area had become a hub of drug smuggling, gamblers and anarchy. However, crime has been controlled to a great extent due to the action taken by the police against unruly elements.
Despite this, the roots of criminals are still spread. For a fear-free environment, pink booths and police posts are being built at major intersections including the border of Pratapgarh district. The geographical location of the area is somewhat different from other police stations. A large amount of drugs have been smuggled into the area along with the infiltration of miscreants from the Pratapgarh border located at Sabispur, while due to the construction of a concrete bridge on the entire Teer Kharauli Ganga river, miscreants from the districts like Fatehpur, Banda Kaushambi etc. have been entering the area and spreading unrest by carrying out incidents like theft, robbery, snatching.
Due to the absence of a police post at Jamunapur intersection, there used to be a gathering of drunkards and unruly elements as the day progressed. This was the reason that on the night of October 1, Hariom, a resident of Fatehpur district, was brutally beaten to death by the people.
In view of the increasing criminal cases, the residents of the area were demanding setting up of police posts near Sabispur of Pratapgarh district border, Fatehpur district border, Kharauli Ganga bridge, Jamunapur and Chandrarai intersection. Taking cognizance of the matter, the Superintendent of Police directed to set up pink booths and police posts at these four places.
Kotwal Ajay Kumar Rai says that a police post is being built on the border of the district located at Chandrai intersection and Sabispur. Pink booth is ready at Jamunapur intersection, which is to be inaugurated. Soon the construction of police post will be started near Pura Teer Kharauli Ghat located on Fatehpur district border.
