Jagran correspondent, Faridabad. Inspector Jagdish Prasad, on duty, lost his life and around 13 people were injured when a swing fell on the Surajkund Handicraft Fair on Saturday evening. After this accident, the police administration has become alert regarding the security arrangements at the fair.
The accident area has been sealed on Sunday, the second day after the accident. Also, the broken swing has been removed from the spot and all the stalls in the amusement park have been closed. The operators allege that the stalls are not being shifted to other places and due to this we are incurring a loss of lakhs of rupees.
Due to the accident that happened on Saturday, fewer tourists were seen in the fair on Sunday. However, after the accident, the Tourism Department and Public Relations Department have issued information that the fair will continue as before.

On the other hand, Deputy Commissioner Ayush Sinha and Tourism MD Partha Gupta met the injured admitted in the Supreme Hospital in Surajkund again on Sunday morning and inquired about their health.
At present, 2 out of 8 patients admitted in the hospital have been discharged, while 6 are undergoing treatment. At the same time, all the four injured admitted in BK Civil Hospital have been discharged after treatment. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner had come to meet the injured and their relatives late on Saturday night.
Case registered against swing contractor, team formed for investigation
A team has been formed under the leadership of ADC to investigate the case of swing breakage. This team will investigate what was the reason for the swing breaking? Inspector Jagdish Prasad, who was engaged in rescue work after the swing broke at the fair on Saturday, died. Postmortem of his body will be conducted today. After this his last rites will be performed with state honours.
