Jagran correspondent, Haldwani. The OPD number of the concerned doctor has to be written in the bill received after taking medicines from the medical store of the district. At the same time, no medical store will give antibiotics without prescription. After the first news of Dainik Jagran's attack campaign on AMR, the team of Drug Control Department conducted an inspection campaign and gave these instructions to the medical store operators.

Dainik Jagran is running a campaign on AMR against the carelessness of taking antibiotics arbitrarily. Regarding this, in Thursday's issue the medical store published a news titled 'Arbitrary dose of antibiotic given without medical consultation'. On this, the team of Drug Control Department has started a campaign of inspection in medical stores across the district.

Under this, the departmental team conducted surprise inspection of five wholesale and six retailer medical establishments of Haldwani on Thursday. During this time, Senior Drug Inspector Meenakshi Bisht has given strict instructions to the medical store operators to give all antibiotics medicines only on the valid prescription of a registered doctor.

He issued strict instructions and said that from now on, all the medical stores in the district will issue formal cash memo or bill for the sale of medicines, in which along with the name of the doctor, the OPD number of the place will also be written. This will make it clear that the patient has taken the medicine only after showing the prescription from a registered doctor. Also, its complete record will be checked by the Drug Control Department team every 15 days. Drug Inspector Archana was also present during the inspection. Officials of the Drug Department have issued instructions to wholesale medicines traders to supply them only to registered, licensed wholesalers. He said that if there is any doubt regarding the quality of the medicine, the drug administration has to be informed immediately. The campaign will continue from the point of view of public health. Senior Drug Inspector Meenakshi Bisht said that as per the instructions of higher officials, a special enforcement campaign has been launched in the district for proper use of antibiotics, prevention of illegal sale of cough syrups containing codeine and other psychoactive drugs. He has clarified that keeping in view the public interest, the special campaign will continue in the district. If any irregularity is found, appropriate legal action will be taken against the concerned.
