Cash And Jewelery Worth Lakhs Stolen From Two Houses In Kaithal, Money Kept For Daughter's Wedding Also Spent

One and a half lakh rupees and jewelery kept in the house for daughter's wedding were stolen.

Jagran correspondent, Kaithal. In two separate cases of theft, thieves stole cash and jewelery from two houses. In the first case, Rs 1.5 lakh and jewelery kept for the daughter's marriage were stolen. In the second case, thieves stole jewelery worth about Rs 2.5 lakh from the house. Police have registered cases in different police stations and started investigation.

In the first case, a case has been registered in the city police station on the complaint of Pratap Gate resident Rajkumar. It was told in the complaint that he works as a hawker. On the night of February 6, he and all the family members slept in a room. There is a place of worship in the second room.

A cupboard and some items are kept in that room. In the cupboard, jewelery and cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh were kept for the daughter's wedding. During the night, thieves stole cash, two pairs of earrings, silver anklets, six silver coins and five thousand rupees from an earthen ball from the cupboard.

When she woke up around 2.30 in the night, she found that the contents of the cupboard were scattered and the jewelery along with the cash had been stolen. A broken earthen ball was lying on the roof of the house. He has suffered a loss of about three lakh rupees due to this theft. City police station has registered a case and handed over the investigation to head constable Naresh Kumar.

Jewelery worth Rs 2.5 lakh stolen from home

In the second case, a case has been registered in Civil Line police station on the complaint of Giani Ram, resident of Nehru Garden Colony. It was told in the complaint that on February 6, at around 5.15 pm, his family members were sitting in the upstairs room. He had gone out of the house for some work. After some time he came home and saw that the box kept in the room was open.

The lock of the iron box kept in the box was broken. The thieves stole a gold chain set worth half a tola, two gold rings, a name Koka, silver anklets, gold earrings and other jewelery from her house. He has suffered a loss of about Rs 2.5 lakh due to this theft. Civil Line police station has registered a case and handed over the investigation to ASI Teg Singh.
