Jagran correspondent, Hamirpur. While returning from Rath to Chiksi, the police jeep went out of control and overturned while saving a youth riding a bike near Churha turn. Due to this, a home guard riding on the jeep died on the spot. While the inspector was seriously injured. He has been referred to Orai Medical College in critical condition. At the time of the incident, the police personnel riding in the jeep were returning from Rath to the police station after conducting the post-mortem of the dead body of a youth.
Home guard Brajendra Kumar, 55, and Inspector Mohit Dev, 35, posted at Chikasi police station, had gone to Rath in a government police jeep on Sunday morning to conduct the post-mortem of the body of a youth who died in an incident. From where he was returning to the police station after conducting the post-mortem at around 3 pm. On the said route, near village Churha Mod of Jaria police station area, suddenly a bike rider came in front of the police jeep.
While trying to save him, the jeep went out of control and overturned on the roadside. Due to this, home guard Brajendra, who was riding the jeep, got buried under the jeep. By the time the seriously injured home guard was pulled out from below, he was already dead. Inspector Mohit Dev was seriously injured. On receiving the information, Jariya police station took both of them to CHC Gohand. From where the doctor referred the Inspector to Orai Medical College as his condition became critical.
In this regard, CO Sarila Shahrukh Khan said that while returning from Rath, the driver had applied emergency brake in an attempt to save a bike coming from the front. Due to this his jeep lost its balance and it overturned. In the accident, home guard Brajendra Kumar died on the spot, while inspector Mohit Dev was seriously injured. As soon as the information was received, Jariya police station in-charge Dinesh Pandey took the injured to CHC. Where his condition became critical and he was referred to Orai. The body of the deceased home guard has been sent for post-mortem. He said that the incident will be investigated thoroughly.
