After stopping the HRTC bus, there was a fight between the driver and the conductor.
Communication Assistant, Rampur Bushahr (Shimla). There has been a fatal attack on the driver and conductor of the bus of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Rampur Depot in Kharahan. It is alleged that a local man in an intoxicated state tried to force the bus to stop and pull the driver out and ran after him with an axe. On the complaint of the driver and conductor, a case has been registered in Rampur police station.
State General Secretary of Himachal Transport Mazdoor Sangh Harish Kumar Parashar said that the accused had parked his car on the roadside in such a way that there was not enough space for the bus to pass. When the driver-conductor requested to move the vehicle, the accused abused him and threatened to kill him.
Picked up an ax from the shop and ran back
Then he picked up an ax from a nearby shop and ran to attack the bus driver. In protest against the incident, all the employee organizations of Transport Mazdoor Sangh held a meeting in HRTC Rampur campus on Friday and expressed their anger. It was decided that no HRTC bus will be run on the Rampur to Kholighat route until the concerned accused is arrested by the police.
The employee organizations warned that if strict legal action is not taken against the accused within 24 hours by arresting him, then all the organizations will protest. The safety of employees will not be compromised. Concrete and effective steps should be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
