Jagran correspondent, West Delhi. An incident of road rage came to light in Bindapur police station area under Dwarka district on Monday. In the dispute that started when a scooter touched a car in Milap Nagar, a young man riding a car crossed all limits of cruelty.

In front of the victim's wife Deepa Singh, the accused kept beating her husband Rajeev Kumar mercilessly with his own helmet until he fell unconscious on the road bleeding.

Deepa kept asking people for help and pleading with the attacker, but the accused did not stop. Taking immediate action in this case, the police have identified the accused Simar, who is a declared criminal (BC) of Mohan Garden police station and arrested him. DCP Ankit Singh said that Rajeev Kumar, resident of Nand Ram Park, Uttam Nagar, who is working in the Adidas showroom at Connaught Place, along with his wife Deepa Singh, were returning home on Scooty after leaving their child at MD Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Janakpuri East on Monday. As soon as he reached the square on Mangal Bazar Road, his scooter touched a car on the road.

Seeing this, Simar, who was driving the car, lost his temper and started abusing Rajiv. According to eyewitnesses, in order to protest against the abuses, Simar forcibly snatched Rajiv's helmet and hit him several times on Rajiv's forehead, just above his right eye. The attack was so severe that Rajiv fell down on the road. During this time, there was chaos in the area due to the screams of his wife Deepa. But no one came forward to help. As soon as the Bindapur police station received the information, they reached the spot and by then the accused had fled from the spot. The unconscious Rajeev Kumar was immediately admitted to BL Gupta Hospital.

Told that the case was registered on the statement of the wife as the victim's condition was critical and he was not in a position to give a statement. The police took immediate action and started searching for the accused and conducted a raid. On Wednesday, the accused was arrested from Maharani Enclave, Uttam Nagar and sent to judicial custody.
