Jagran correspondent, Rohtak. Gurmeet Singh, who was serving a sentence in the Sadhvi sexual abuse and journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati murder case, reached Sunaria jail again after the expiry of his 40-day parole period. On completion of the scheduled time, he appeared in the jail on Sunday evening amidst tight security arrangements.

It is noteworthy that in the year 2017, Dera Sachcha Sauda chief Gurmeet was convicted by the special CBI court in Panchkula in the case of raping two nuns and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. Apart from this, the court had also convicted him in the journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati murder case and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Since then he is lodged in Sunariya jail of Rohtak. During parole he stayed in Sirsa camp under prescribed conditions. On completion of the parole period, he had to surrender again in jail, under which he reached Sunariyan jail on Sunday evening. According to the jail administration, after his parole ended, he was duly entered and sent to the barrack as per security protocol.

Ram Rahim has already received furlough and parole for different periods, which has been discussed in political and social circles from time to time. At present he is serving his sentence in Sunari jail itself.
