Drag ski lift in Sonamarg restored after two years (file photo)
Jagran correspondent, Srinagar. There is good news for the tourists coming to visit the tourist destination Sonamarg from across the country. Tourists fond of skiing can enjoy the drag ski lift here. Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation has restarted the drag ski lift.
This lift was closed for the last two years, due to which the tourists visiting this tourist spot, especially skiers, felt disappointed. In this regard, the tourists who reached Sonamarg from all over the country were demanding from the Cable Car Corporation to make the lift smooth.
After this the Corporation immediately sent a technical team to the site. After inspection and necessary repairs, the drag lift is now operational and tourists are enjoying the facility.
This facility was closed for the last two years due to some technical problems. Stakeholders and tourists, especially ski enthusiasts, have expressed happiness over the restoration of the drag ski lift and said that the reopening of this facility will boost tourism in Sonamarg. Situated in the lap of Himalayan Mountains in Ganderbal district, this world famous tourist destination is one of the major tourist destinations of the valley. This place is also the main base camp of Baba Amarnath.
