State Bureau, Ranchi. Pipe lines supplying drinking water in the state will be repaired before summer. The department will spend Rs 25 crore for this. The Drinking Water Sanitation Department has sought details for this from the divisions. Only after this the amount will be allocated as per requirement.
Apart from this, the department has also decided to provide funds for maintenance and other work at the local level. The Drinking Water Sanitation Department plans to ensure that there is no shortage of drinking water in summer. For this, old pipes will be repaired to prevent wastage of water and maintain its purity.
The department is also planning to replace the pipelines for urban drinking water supply which are more than ten years old in the next financial year. After the details are available at the divisional level, all the pipe lines will be repaired before March.
The electrical connection of the deep boring site will also be changed.
During summer season, water supply is done through deep boring of local bodies. The department has also planned to repair the electrical connections installed there. A separate amount will be allocated for this. The Drinking Water Sanitation Department has asked the deep boring sites to prepare an action plan for this. The responsibility for its maintenance rests with local bodies.
