Jagran Correspondent, PDDU Nagar (Chandauli): In view of the crowd of Magh Mela, DRM Uday Singh Meena conducted a surprise inspection of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction on Friday. During this inspection, he took stock of the work being done to maintain the normal flow of passengers and strengthen the security arrangements of the junction. He gave instructions to increase the number of CCTV cameras in the holding area. A plan is being made to call additional forces from outside for the security of the devotees coming to Magh Mela.
DRM said that on the lines of Mahakumbh, concrete arrangements have been made for holding area, additional counters, water and cleanliness. Instructions have been given to strengthen the arrangements during the cold season so that the devotees coming to Magh Mela do not face any kind of problem. He also clarified that the security of the junction will be done on the lines of Maha Kumbh and any kind of negligence will not be tolerated. The need to increase the number of additional forces and CCTV cameras at the junction was stressed.
During the inspection, DRM expressed displeasure after finding dirt at the junction and the escalator was closed. He instructed to make immediate improvements. Along with this, a team of doctors has been asked to be present 24 hours at the junction for emergency medical services, so that prompt medical assistance can be provided in case of any emergency.
DRM also said that the safety of the devotees coming to Magh Mela is the top priority. He directed all concerned officials to ensure that all the arrangements are completed on time and the devotees do not face any kind of difficulty.
It is clear from this inspection that the Railway Administration is serious about the safety and convenience of passengers during Magh Mela. With this surprise inspection of DRM, it is expected that there will be improvement in the arrangements at the junction.
