Former MLA Aman Paswan and JDU leader Hiralal arrested

Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. Former BJP MLA of Pirpainti and then District Councilor Aman Paswan and JDU leader Hiralal Paswan have been taken into judicial custody by the Special Judge of MP MLA Court in a case related to the Model Code of Conduct 16 years ago. Documentary exercise has been started to send both the leaders to jail.

In the first shift hearing, Special Judge Dharmendra Kumar Pandey on Tuesday rejected the applications of the two who surrendered and demanded bail and took them into judicial custody. The special court had issued non-bailable warrant against both the leaders, canceling their bond due to their continuous absence in the earlier hearing.

The hearing of the case registered against him 16 years ago in Antichak police station was still pending. Despite there being a case record on the statement, both were not present.

As a result, the court of Special Judge Dharmendra Kumar Pandey canceled his bail bond and issued a non-bailable warrant on 24 December 2025. On Tuesday, both the accused leaders surrendered in the court and applied for bail, which was rejected by the court.

It is known that on September 9, 2010, the then Block Development Officer had registered a case of Model Code of Conduct against both the leaders in Antichak police station of Kahalgaon. In the case registered, information was given as to how both the leaders had violated the Model Code of Conduct by putting up campaign posters and banners on government poles etc.
