State Bureau, Lucknow. ED has attached properties worth Rs 350 crore of Rohtas and its associate companies on charges of money laundering. These include 75 immovable and two movable properties. These properties are registered in the name of Rohtas Group promoter Deepak Rastogi, Vardhan Township Pvt Ltd, M/s Adhyay Realty Infrastructure, Highness Infra Developers Pvt Ltd and unknown persons.
ED had started its investigation on the basis of 83 FIRs registered against Rohtas Group in the year 2021-22 in the case of defrauding people. Rohtas Group promoter Deepak Rastogi had collected crores of rupees from people in the name of providing flats in 30 months. They were also assured that if the flat is not allotted within 30 months, then 150 percent of the deposited amount will be refunded to the people. On this belief, hundreds of people had booked flats of Rohtas Group in Sultanpur Road, Rae Bareli Road and Rohtas Plumeria Township. The promoters of Rohtas had fled after embezzling crores of rupees from the people without developing the township.
ED investigation has revealed that the money collected from flat buyers was spent by the promoters of Rohtas in purchasing land in the name of associate companies and benami persons. The promoters had transferred the land to Vardhan Township Pvt Ltd to hide ownership, while some benami land was transferred to Adhyay Realty Infrastructure LLP.
Investigation has also revealed that Deepak Rastogi had later purchased some plots from anonymous persons and had taken loan by mortgaging them in banks. ED officials said that on October 1, 2025, 68 immovable properties worth Rs 110.05 crore have been attached in this case. The properties that were attached on Friday also include immovable properties worth Rs 141.21 crore located in Lucknow.
