Instructions to install vehicle tracking system in cleaning vehicles

Jagran correspondent, Dhanbad. With the aim of strengthening and making the cleanliness system of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation strong and effective, a review meeting related to cleanliness was organized on Friday under the chairmanship of Administrator cum Municipal Commissioner Ashish Gangwar. Additional Municipal Commissioner, all Assistant Municipal Commissioners, Municipal Manager, Municipal Mission Manager, representatives of DIMSWL and Sulabh International participated in the meeting.

Many important decisions were taken in the meeting to ensure visible cleanliness in the Municipal Corporation area. Instructions were given to compulsorily install vehicle tracking system in all the cleaning vehicles of Municipal Corporation and DIMSWL. The cleaning works will be monitored by the Sanitary Supervisor as per the route chart prescribed, while the City Manager and Assistant Municipal Commissioner will conduct random inspections.

Instructions were given to carry out special cleaning campaigns by regularly sweeping, cleaning back lanes and identifying cleanliness target units in commercial and residential areas. A one month date-wise special cleanliness campaign will be conducted in the slum areas located in Dhanbad Municipal Corporation. It was also decided to hold a meeting with the District Education Officer regarding the cleanliness campaign in schools.

DIMSWL was instructed to install vehicle tracking system in door-to-door garbage collection vehicles and make its data available to the Municipal Corporation from February 1. Public awareness campaign will be conducted regarding garbage segregation and integrated solid waste management through miking through door-to-door garbage collection vehicles. Instructions were also given to construct compost pits at waste collection stations.

Buildings and institutions generating an average of 100 kg or more waste per day in the municipal corporation area have been declared as bulk waste generators. All such institutions will have to compulsorily install composting, biogas or other approved system for processing wet waste in their premises.

A special campaign will be run to ensure cleanliness in community toilets and public toilets. Besides, cleanliness awareness campaign and Paint My City campaign will also be run with the help of brand ambassadors and social media influencers. Administrator cum Municipal Commissioner Ashish Gangwar, while emphasizing on strict compliance of the instructions, said that all concerned officers and agencies should work with full responsibility to make Dhanbad a clean and beautiful city.
