Jagran correspondent, Fatehabad. Preparations have intensified in Fatehabad for the nationwide strike to be held on February 12 on the call of central trade unions and various employee organizations. In this series, an important meeting of public organizations was organized in the union office located at the Electricity Board, in which workers and employees associated with various projects including Sarv Karmachari Sangh, CITU, AITUC, INTUC, Retired Employees Union, ICTU participated.
In the meeting, the speakers unanimously described the policies of the BJP government at the Center and the State as anti-laborers, farmers and employees. The leaders said that the government's policies are pushing the common people towards slavery. In the meeting, a demand was raised to immediately cancel the four labor codes that were implemented by abolishing 29 labor laws. Along with this, a demand was made to implement minimum wage of Rs 30 thousand and to ensure permanent employment of all raw workers including Anganwadi, Asha, mid-day meal, forest laborers and rural sanitation workers.
The leaders also raised demands for restoration of the old pension scheme, ban on privatization of public sector, legal guarantee of MSP, cancellation of electricity bill and seed bill and withdrawal of VB-G Ram Ji Yojana. Addressing the meeting, Rajesh Chaubara, Munshi Ram Kamboj, Subhash Chandra Chauhan, Begraj and other leaders said that the labor code implemented from November 21, 2025 is a conspiracy to make workers slaves of corporates.
He alleged that the Haryana government has increased the working day from 8 hours to 10 hours and fundamental rights like forming a union and going on strike are being weakened. Many employee leaders including Bhup Singh Bhadolawali, Gagandeep Kaur, Harpal Singh, Madan Singh, Ramniwas Sharma, Rajpal Mitathal, Sunita, Suman were present in the meeting. In the end, the leaders called that on February 12, thousands of workers, employees and farmers will take to the streets and protest strongly against the policies.
