A criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, who was running away after robbing a bike rider in Babri police station area on Thursday night, had an encounter with the police on Jhinjhana Road in Shamli after midnight. During this time, a notorious criminal of Delhi-NCR was killed, while a constable was also injured due to the bullet.
Taking advantage of the darkness, one of the miscreant's accomplices escaped. There were 90 cases registered against the slain criminal. Made in Italy and a country made pistol have been recovered from him. On Friday evening, the brother and other relatives of the notorious person arrived, to whom the body was handed over to the police.
At around 9 pm on Thursday night, two miscreants riding a bike had looted Rs 500, two silver rings and a mobile phone from Rahul, son of Sundar, resident of Fatehpur, in Babri area. As soon as the police got the information, a search for the miscreants was started in the district. There was blockade everywhere.
At around 12:30 pm on Thursday night, Kotwali police and Adarsh Mandi police were searching for miscreants on the Eastern Yamuna Canal. Then when an attempt was made to stop the miscreants on the road leading from Jhinjhana Road towards Pir towards Kaserwan village, they entered the reed field and opened fire on the police.
During this time, constable Sumit Baisla got injured due to the bullet, while in retaliation, a criminal was also shot and his companion escaped. The police admitted the constable and the criminal to the district hospital, where the doctors declared the criminal dead.
Bullet proof jackets of police station incharge Kotwali Sachin Sharma and police station chief Adarsh Mandi Gyanendra Singh were also hit by bullets, while a bullet also hit the vehicle of Adarsh Mandi police station. SP NP Singh said that the criminal was Rihan, a resident of Okhla Nagar, Delhi.
In November, the criminal, along with Yahiya Gurjar, had carried out the incident of mobile robbery on Oon Road in Jhinjhana area. There are 90 cases registered against the accused. After the robbery in Jhinjhana, a reward of Rs 50 thousand was also announced on him. Two pistols have been recovered from the criminal, one of which is made in Italy, and the other is indigenous.
The looted mobile phone and cash have also been recovered from the accused. The bike recovered from the criminal is registered in the name of Salma, resident of Delhi. Two mobile phones were also found from him. The post-mortem of the body was conducted on Friday afternoon. After this the body was handed over to Rihan's brother and other relatives.
Highest number of incidents in Delhi and Ghaziabad. SP NP Singh said that till now information has come to light that 90 cases were registered against the notorious criminal. Of these, maximum 49 have been detected in Delhi and 28 in Ghaziabad. Apart from this, cases of robbery, theft and murderous attack are also registered against him in Shamli, Baghpat, Hapur, Bulandshahr etc. Information about the notorious person's further criminal history is being collected.
