Jagran correspondent, Dhanbad. Even the cemetery in the city is not safe. A serious case of illegal occupation of the room built by Dhanbad Municipal Corporation for Takiyadar in Rangatand cemetery has come to light. Regarding this, Ashfaq Hussain, Wasim Akram Khan, Mintu Ansari, Shamim Akhtar and other local people have lodged a written complaint in Dhanbad police station. The complainants allege that persons named Afzal Khan, Vicky alias Naushad, Imtiaz alias Guddu and Sonu have forcibly occupied the room made for the taqiyadar. It is alleged that the said room has been given to a businessman of Rangatand on rent of Rs 1 lakh in advance and Rs 15 thousand per month, which is completely illegal. Local people said that when they protested against this illegal occupation and collection of rent, the accused abused them, beat them and even threatened to kill them. It has also been mentioned in the complaint that the Takiyadar who was looking after the cemetery was forcibly thrown out of the room, due to which the security and order of the cemetery is being affected. Not only this, the complainants have alleged that the amount related to the cemetery has also been embezzled by the accused. This has hurt the arrangement, cleanliness and religious sentiments of the cemetery. Local people say that such illegal occupation and commercial use of a sacred place like the cemetery is highly condemnable. He has demanded from the administration that the matter should be investigated impartially and strict action should be taken against the accused and the Takiyadar should be given back his rights and residence. Police, while confirming receipt of the complaint, have said that the matter is being investigated and necessary legal action will be taken after investigation.
