In the famous case of fraud of Rs 30 crore in the name of film production, the court sent film director Vikram Bhatt and his wife Shwetambari Bhatt to jail in judicial custody. After completion of the 7-day police remand period, both of them were produced in ACJM Court-4 of Udaipur, from where orders were given to send them to jail.
Citing the completion of the investigation in the court, the police demanded that both the accused be sent to judicial custody. At the same time, Vikram Bhatt's lawyer filed a bail application citing the ill health of the Bhatt couple.
The court rejected the bail plea after hearing the arguments of the prosecution and defense. It is known that Udaipur ACJM Court-4 had sent Vikram Bhatt and his wife on seven-day police remand on December 9, the period of which ended on December 16.
The single bench of Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur had adopted a strict stance in the case of IG-SP appearing in the High Court. On the orders of the court, a day earlier, Udaipur IG Gaurav Srivastava and SP Yogesh Goyal had appeared before the court virtually. The court had asked many important questions to the IG regarding the arrest process and investigation.
