A property dealer's house was looted in Van Vihar, Mehunwala, Dehradun.
Jagran Correspondent, Dehradun: Four armed miscreants entered the house of a property dealer in Van Vihar, Mehunwala. The miscreants beat up the relatives of the property dealer and fled with the cash and jewellery. It is being told that the miscreants had come on foot.
After the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh, SP City Pramod Kumar, CO Ankit Kandari and Inspector Chandrabhan Adhikari in-charge of Patel Nagar Kotwali reached the spot and took stock of the incident. The police scanned the CCTV footage installed around the incident site to identify the miscreants.
Mehunwala, resident of Shadab, Van Vihar Colony, said that four miscreants entered his house at around 10 pm on Thursday night. At that time his wife, mother-in-law and children were at home. Among the miscreants, one appeared to be older while the other three were younger. One of them had a knife in his hand while the other had a revolver in his hand. The miscreants wore hooded jackets. They started searching the house, assaulting women and children.
Told that the miscreants threatened the women and looted Rs 1 lakh cash and some jewelery from them and ran away. After taking stock of the incident, Patelnagar Kotwali police have registered a case and started searching for the miscreants.
CO Patelnagar Kotwali said that the miscreants entered the house at 10 pm and stayed inside the house for about 20 minutes. In this case, police and SOG teams are busy searching for the miscreants. Some faces have emerged in the CCTV footage, on the basis of which the miscreants are being searched. The investigation conducted so far has revealed that the miscreants entered the house only after doing recce.
