Loot worth lakhs by taking hostage
Jagran correspondent, Raxaul (East Champaran). Late Tuesday night, armed criminals entered two houses and carried out robbery in the South Canal area of Champapur village under Ramgarhwa block of the sub-division.
The criminals targeted the houses of Dhandev Sah and Mukesh Mahato. According to the victims, about half a dozen armed miscreants entered the house from the back door.

The criminals captured the housekeepers at gunpoint and locked other family members in a room. After this the miscreants looted the goods kept in the house.
The victims reported that some criminals were keeping watch outside during the incident, although their exact number could not be known.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. Police are conducting search operations in the surrounding areas and efforts are being made to identify the criminals. There is an atmosphere of panic in the village after the incident.
