Tubewell motor wire thief gang busted in Yamunanagar, 18 crimes confessed
Jagran correspondent, Yamunanagar. A team of CIA arrested four members of a gang involved in stealing motor wires from tubewells installed in farmers' fields. The accused were active in Thana Sadar Yamuna Nagar area and used to take out wires from the motor from the tube well at night and run away leaving the motor. In the interrogation so far, 18 incidents have been revealed from the accused.
CIA-1 in-charge Rajkumar said that incidents of theft of motor wires from fields had been happening for several days. Complaints and cases were registered in the police stations. During investigation in these cases, information was received that four people were roaming in Aurangabad area with the intention of theft.
A team of ASI Sukhdev Singh, Azad, Kuldeep Paswan, Sushil Jagir and Amarjeet Manish was formed. The team cordoned off the spot and detained all four people. They identified themselves as Sushil Kumar of Gulabgarh, Raju resident of Panjupur, Pradeep and Gurin resident of Khurdi.
Upon investigation, it was found that these people had previous theft cases registered against them, which are currently pending in the court. These people were strictly interrogated, then they confessed that till now they have committed 18 thefts.
These included nine incidents on January 11, eight incidents on January 18 and another incident on January 26. Before this, three motors were stolen on 14th December, eight motors were stolen on 11th December, wires of five motors were stolen on 27th November. Police are investigating the criminal records and theft network of the accused. At present, all the accused have been produced in the court for further questioning and have been taken on remand.
