'Good Films Are Not Being Made In Bollywood', Shahid Kapoor Raised The Issue Before The Release Of O'Romeo

Shahid Kapoor said this about Bollywood films

Entertainment Desk, New Delhi. Over the past few years, there has been much debate about how social media has affected people's attention spans, with many saying that people no longer have the patience for long-form entertainment. Some people even call this a reason for Bollywood going through bad times, because the audience is now showing less interest in watching films.

However, Shahid Kapoor, who is gearing up for the release of his next film O' Romeo, recently talked about it, but also said that this cannot be the only thing to blame for the current troubles of the film industry.

Good films are not being made in Bollywood- Shahid

In an interview he said, 'Look, the candle is burning from both sides. The audience is losing patience, their minds are not able to focus. They need stimulation, they need a break, because it's a dopamine hit. Creators are doing the same to themselves, so when they try to focus and work, their creativity suffers. It is not that the audience does not want to watch films, the thing is that we are not making as good films as we should. So it's a two-way process'.

Shahid also talked about another challenge that has been troubling the industry for some time – artificial marketing. He said, 'People don't understand, but it's a miracle of life that a room full of people is actually clapping, whistling, and giving you recognition, giving you a status above themselves, it's a beautiful thing. That is why art is special. But when something artificial comes into it, it doesn't feel the same.

He further said, 'Marketing is something that everyone has to do, you also have to do, I also have to do. But when does marketing cross the line between right and wrong? It really comes from your own sense of morality. If you choose to work from that location, that's a different matter. But if you are working only for business and numbers, then it is just business and numbers.

Didn't get the benefit of being Pankaj Kapoor's son

Recently, Shahid also talked about nepotism and made it clear that being the son of actor Pankaj Kapoor did not give him any benefit, 'People think that I am an actor because I am the son of Pankaj Kapoor, but when I was just three years old, my parents got separated. I didn't spend much time with my father, so no one knew I was his son, nor did I ever use his name. I lived with my mother. Things automatically fell into place for me. I never asked my father for help and he never called me to get work.
