In the last few months, the Central GST team has been continuously conducting raids at different places in the city. Every day the team is conducting raids and arresting traders in cases of GST evasion.
In this sequence, on Friday evening, the Central GST team raided a big textile merchant located at Jogipura Lakshmi Lane in the city. The investigation continued till late night. During this period the Central GST team did not give any information. On arrival of Jagran team, the team continued investigation by pulling down the shutter of the shop.
A businessman resident of the city has a clothes shop in Jogipura of the city. He is a wholesaler of clothes. From children's clothes to adults' clothes, they are sold in bulk here. At the same time, clothes are also sold here according to the season. In the last few years, this businessman has spread his big business in the entire district and surrounding areas.
The Central GST team suddenly arrived here on Friday evening. A team of about eight to ten people in three vehicles reached the cloth merchant's shop located at Jogipura Lakshmi Lane. Where the team threw everyone out as soon as they reached. Investigation was started by excluding everyone except the businessman and his employee. As soon as the team was seen, there was a commotion among the nearby shopkeepers.
The shopkeepers closed their shops and ran away. But the team continued the investigation. When the Jagran team reached there after receiving the information late in the evening, the GST officials asked the shopkeeper to close the shutters more than half. There was soon silence as the nearby shops were closed.
The officers' vehicles were causing the information about the raid to spread. Due to this, he also got his vehicles removed from there and parked at Lavela Chowk of the city. It is said that the team has come from Delhi and Noida. Local GST officials and police are not aware of this. At around ten o'clock in the night, GST officials kept checking the matching of employee accounts with the stock and GST billing etc.
Purchase input received from Delhi
Sources say that most of the goods of the textile trader come through Delhi. The Central GST team had received this information from some businessmen of Delhi itself. Based on this, GST officials were keeping an eye on their business for the last few days. This raid has been conducted keeping in view the situation of shoplifting and daily sales. During this period there was silence in the entire market.
