Allegation of selling about 44 marlas of land in Saini Majra of Gurudwara Amb Sahib located in Phase-8.
Jagran correspondent, Mohali. A case of sale of about 44 marla land situated in Saini Majra of Gurdwara Amb Sahib situated in Phase-8 has come to light. It is alleged that the land has been sold wrongly, on which manager Rajinder Singh Tohra has been suspended with immediate effect.
Mohali's SDM and Tehsildar have been contacted to get the land registry and death certificate cancelled. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has constituted a special committee for a high-level investigation of the entire matter, which is investigating all aspects related to the land sale.
SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami made it clear that strict action will be taken against anyone whose role comes to light in the investigation and no one will be spared. After the matter came to notice, investigation was started. Preliminary investigation has revealed that manager Rajinder Singh Tohra has confessed to the sale of the land.
It is alleged that neither any public advertisement was issued nor an open auction was conducted before the sale of the land. Had there been open bidding, the price of this land could have reached around Rs 20 crore. As soon as the matter came to the notice of SGPC, the flying team reached Mohali on the spot and investigated the entire episode.
