Jagran correspondent, Agra. A woman living in Etmaddaula has accused a young man who runs a fast food shop and his four associates of raping her after taking her to a hotel in Bodla area. The victim lodged a complaint at Etmaddaula police station on Wednesday afternoon.
It is alleged that instead of filing the case, the police kept him sitting in the police station for three hours. Also recorded the statement several times and pressurized him to record the statement every time. Police are saying that they will register a case after investigation.
The victim alleges that she is familiar with the young man who runs a fast food shop in Etmaddaula area. On Tuesday night, the young man tricked her and took her to a hotel in Bodla area. The accused raped her in the hotel. Meanwhile, four of his other companions who reached the hotel also raped him.
The victim says that at 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon she reached Etmaddoula police station with her relatives to lodge a complaint. The police station did not register a case even after the complaint. They kept him in the police station for three hours, saying that action would be taken. His statements were taken several times. Pressure was created to change the statement by accusing five people of rape.
During this, the policemen alleged that the woman had gone to the hotel on her own will. The victim's brother says that the police is not taking action on the complaint. Nor was the sister given medical treatment till Wednesday evening.
ACP Sheshmani Upadhyay said that the woman is changing her statements again and again. The complaint is being investigated. A case will be registered on the basis of the facts that emerge in the investigation.
