Heat During The Day, Shivering In The Morning And Evening In Uttarakhand, Weather Has Become The Enemy Of Health.

Vijay Joshi, Jagran Dehradun. The chill in the morning, the scorching heat of the sun in the afternoon and the cold winds in the evening are taking a toll on people's health. January is in its last stages and before the arrival of February, this ups and downs of weather has become a cause of trouble for the common people.

The effect of snowfall in the hilly areas in the past few days is clearly visible in the lower areas. The icy winds in the morning and evening are increasing the shivering, while the temperature is increasing due to the bright sunshine during the day.

According to medical experts, this dual nature of weather is directly affecting the body's immunity. Due to lack of coordination between the cold of morning and evening and the heat of the day, cases of cold, cough, fever, sore throat and viral infections are increasing.

This season is considered especially risky for the elderly, children and people already suffering from respiratory or heart disease. Senior doctors of Doon say that the body finds it difficult to adapt to sudden changes in temperature.

This can increase complaints of allergies, asthma attacks, headaches and fatigue. Due to strong sunlight, problems like dehydration and eye irritation are also occurring in the afternoon.

At the same time, the cold winds of the evening again expose the body to cold, which increases the risk of infection. This changing pattern of weather in Dehradun may continue in the coming days also. In such a situation, vigilance and caution is the best way to protect health.

Preventive measures are necessary, take special care

Dr. Praveen Panwar, senior physician of the district hospital, advises that it is important to take special precautions in this season. Wear light, warm clothing in the morning and evening, while layers can be reduced as needed during the day.

Drinking adequate amount of lukewarm water, eating nutritious food and including fresh fruits and vegetables in the diet will be beneficial. Protect your eyes when exposed to sunlight and avoid direct exposure to extreme cold or heat.

Apart from this, regular exercise, adequate sleep and paying attention to hand hygiene are also helpful in preventing infection. If any kind of symptoms appear, do not be careless and definitely seek medical advice.
