Law correspondent, Jagran, Lucknow. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has ordered the state government to impose a complete ban on the manufacture, sale and use of deadly Manjha. The court made it clear that if incidents involving deadly manja were not stopped, it would be bound to bear the medical expenses and compensation of the victims.

This order was passed by a bench of Justice Rajan Rai and Justice AK Choudhary on a PIL demanding a ban on the deadly Manjha. In this case, the bench of Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and Justice Jaspreet Singh also heard and ordered to hear all the petitions together.

During the hearing, the government told that a government order has been issued on February 10, 2026 to ban the deadly Manjha. On this, the court said that merely issuing the government order is not enough, but it has to be stopped through legal provisions. During the hearing, the court was told that in the month of February, about ten people were injured or died due to deadly spells.
