The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started the investigation of the blast that took place near the police station on Thursday morning, the first day of the New Year, in Nalagarh of Solan district in Himachal Pradesh. The special team of NIA has reached Nalagarh from Chandigarh. Due to this, the stir among local police and security agencies has intensified.

Why was the investigation handed over to NIA?

If sources are to be believed, the initial investigation into the blast has revealed many serious indications. Considering the nature of the explosion, the remains of the material used and the condition of the incident site, it is being considered different from a normal criminal incident. For this reason, the Central Government has handed over the investigation of the case to the NIA.

Suspicious material recovered from the spot

The team inspected the spot, sealed the blast site from all sides and started forensic investigation. The evidence collected from the spot includes traces of explosive material, wires, metal pieces and other suspicious materials, which have been sent for scientific investigation. NIA officials are trying to find out what kind of explosive was used to cause the blast and who could be behind it.

Investigation is being done regarding these aspects

According to sources, NIA is investigating this case by combining the aspects of conspiracy to target the industrial area, role of an organized gang and possible involvement of external elements. It is being investigated whether this explosion was part of some bigger network.

Footage, call details and list of suspicious people handed over

The NIA team held a meeting with senior local police officials and took complete information about the investigation so far. The FIR registered by the police, footage of CCTV cameras, mobile call details and the list of suspicious people have been handed over to the NIA. The footage of CCTV cameras is being scrutinized.

Additional police forces have been deployed in Nalagarh and surrounding areas, while strict vigil is being maintained at the entry and exit routes. The administration is also keeping an eye on the situation. There is concern among industrialists and local people after the blast.

NIA officials say that the investigation is in the initial stage, but no possibility can be ruled out. The team may soon interrogate some suspects and the scope of investigation may be extended to other states also.

There was an explosion in the street near Nalagarh police station on Thursday morning. Due to this, up to 16 mm glass of the police station building, policemen's quarters and ECHS Polyclinic and Market Committee building were broken. The windows of the army canteen located 40 meters away along with the surrounding buildings were also broken.
