PTI, Jaipur. A horrific road accident took place in Churu, Rajasthan in which five people died. Five people were killed and three others seriously injured in a collision between a trailer and an SUV in Rajasthan's Churu district on Friday evening, police said.
Chauthmal police station officer said that this accident happened in Sandwa police station area. Four people traveling in the SUV, including a woman, died on the spot, while another injured person succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a hospital in Bikaner, he said.
Police said the deceased have been identified as Umed Singh (55), Prahlad Singh (35), Dalip Singh (25), all residents of Lalgarh; Raju Kanwar (40), resident of Shyamsar in Nagaur district; And Narayan Ram (60), who later died in Bikaner.
The three injured were first taken to Sandwa Community Health Center and later referred to Bikaner in view of their critical condition.
Police said all the occupants of the SUV had gone to Sandwa in connection with a family dispute, which was resolved through counselling. They were returning to Lalgarh when the accident happened.
Police further said that the trailer driver fled from the spot after the accident and the search for him is on. The bodies have been kept at the mortuary of Sandwa Pediatric Center for post-mortem.
