Horrific Accident In Fatehgarh Sahib: Due To Fog, Several Vehicles Collided One After The Other With A Tipper Parked On The Road, 6 People Injured.

Dialogue partner, Jagran Fatehgarh Sahib. Vehicles collided one behind the other at around 7:30 am on the GT Road main road amidst dense fog near village Tarkhan Majra on Sirhind National Highway. More than six people were injured in this. However, he was discharged after treatment.

In the morning, a tipper was standing on the main road near village Tarkhan Majra. During this time, a Scorpio vehicle going from Sirhind towards Ludhiana collided with the back of a tipper during fog. Soon after, another truck coming behind the car hit it. Then three cars collided one after the other. Many vehicles were damaged due to this.

After the accident the road was blocked and traffic came to a standstill. As soon as information about the accident was received, Road Safety Force personnel reached the spot and sent the injured to the hospital for treatment. The damaged vehicles were moved aside and traffic was resumed.

ASI Jasmer Singh of Sirhind police station, who reached the spot, said that the accident took place amidst dense fog and the police has started investigating the cause of the accident.

To avoid accidents in fog, DSP Traffic Indrapeet Singh appealed to the people to drive their vehicles at slow speed during fog. Vehicles following each other must maintain such a distance that the vehicle can be easily stopped by applying brakes at any time.

Use yellow light for vehicles to be visible in fog. Do not use mobile phone at all. If an accident happens, immediately get out of your vehicle and go to a safe place and keep alerting other drivers so that they too do not become victims of an accident.
