Jagran correspondent, Almora. The driver of the vehicle died on the spot in a tragic road accident on the Jihar-Taradi road in the district. Vehicle number UK20TA-8080 (Ertiga) went out of control and fell into a deep gorge about 300 meters below the road. As soon as the information about the accident was received, police station Bhatraujkhan, fire station Ranikhet and SDRF teams immediately left for the spot.
Difficulties were faced in the rescue work due to the gorge being quite inaccessible and steep. Despite this, with the help of local villagers, the police team of Bhatarouj Khan police station took out the body of the driver who died in the accident from the ditch and took it to the road. After this, a precautionary search operation was conducted in the surrounding area by the joint teams of Bhatraujkhan Police, Fire Station Ranikhet and SDRF, to ensure that no other person was traveling in the vehicle.
According to information received from local people, only the driver was a passenger in the accident vehicle. The deceased has been identified as Kuber Singh (40 years), son of Bhupal Singh, resident of Kametpani Basot. After filling the necessary Panchnama, the body has been sent for post-mortem by the police. As soon as the news of the accident was received, a wave of mourning ran in the area. Police have started investigating the cause of the accident.
