E-rickshaw damaged in the rush of cars and e-rickshaw on Pilibhit Bareilly Highway.
Jagran correspondent, Pilibhit. There was a massive collision between a speeding car and an e-rickshaw on Bareilly Highway on Wednesday evening. In this accident, about 10 people including children and women riding the e-rickshaw were injured. The collision was so severe that the e-rickshaw was blown to pieces. All the injured have been admitted to the district hospital. Since the condition of two people is critical, they have been referred to a higher center. Among these, one woman died during treatment. The relative refused for post-mortem.
The accident happened near the bridge of Devha river at around 4 pm. Rakesh son of Shamsher, resident of village Dhakiya Natha of Jehanabad area, his seven year old son Ranveer, Usha Devi wife Prem Bahadur and Durga Devi wife Vijay Pal have been identified. Apart from this, Jamuna Prasad, resident of Puranpur, Vineeta, Maika Devi, Lilavati, Pooja, Pragya, Dhakiya Natha, car rider Meenaz, Aksharanur, three and Alam, eight, resident of Hafizganj Bareilly, were injured in the e-rickshaw.
As the condition of Rakesh and Lilavati became critical, they were referred to a higher centre. The relatives took Lilavati to a private hospital in the city, where she died during treatment. The relatives took the body home and refused for post-mortem.
Police station in-charge Pradeep Kumar Vishnoi said that as soon as information about the accident was received, the police team was sent to the spot. Both the vehicles have been seized. A woman died during treatment, her relatives refused to allow post-mortem of the body. The condition of the remaining injured is improving.
