Priyanka Singh, Mumbai. Cinema is the medium of directors, theater is of artists and digital platform is of writers. This thing gives satisfaction to creator, director and writer Sudeep Sharma. The web series Kohra 2, directed by Sudeep, who has written many films including Sonchiriya, Udta Punjab, will be available for streaming on Netflix on February 11.
Sudeep Sharma says that in western countries the content of digital platforms is kept in the category of television only. This cannot happen here, because the content of OTT and TV is very different. Digital platforms are a great medium for all types of writers. If they don't get opportunities here then where will they get them?
Kohra 2 is a murder mystery. What Sudeep finds challenging about such stories is that each episode ends where the curiosity remains.
More attention has to be paid to OTT content
He further says that the challenge for the writers increases in such genres, they have to keep the audience curious about their roles so that they want to know more about those characters. In this, the audience is not captivated like in cinema. Once you pay for a cinema ticket, you will definitely watch it, no matter how bad the movie is. If the series on OTT becomes boring then you will leave it and will not come back.
Sudeep's opinion on the flop of films
Further, Sudeep also talks about the imbalance in the earnings of films in theatres, in which some films earn Rs 500 crores while others fail to do well even after getting good reviews. Sudeep says that this is a period of change, which is happening all over the world in terms of cinemas. However, in the last five-six years, OTT has made its strong place. Now cinema has become like going to an event. A film that is talked about a lot becomes a celebration. There are also such stars among them, whom people want to see on screen only. Small films cannot do this, even if they are good.

What is the benefit of box office imbalance?
Sudeep Sharma says that after Covid, films were not running. In such a situation, at least now people are going to the cinema theatre. If money comes into the film industry, it will also go towards small films, because not many big films can be made. Big films require big stars, of which only seven-eight are selected. How many films will they shoot in a year? Something good will come from this imbalance.
Sudeep Sharma is coming with comedy show
The film Bandar, written by Sudeep, was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. Apart from this, he has also written a comedy show for Netflix. He says that he has written a comedy series consisting of six episodes. It was a lot of fun writing this. We will start shooting for it from February 1st.
